December 8 - December 11, 2011 in Jaipur, India
INK2011 brings innovation to Jaipur: the northern city of ancient forts and palaces with an emerging global consciousness and orientation towards the future. Just like INK.
Formerly known as The Pink City, Jaipur was once the capital of the royalty and now is the capital city of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is the largest state in India and its very name points to its origins: Raja means King and Sthan means place, and so Rajasthan means The Land of Kings. At present, Jaipur is a major business center and metropolitan city, as well as a sought after tourist destination for its rich cultural roots.
Jaipur was one of the first planned cities in modern Asia. The early rulers of Jaipur favored the arts and crafts and invited artisans from all over the world to make Jaipur their residence. Hence today Jaipur is thought of as a hub for arts and crafts such as Bandhani, stone carving, and sculpture to name a few. Jaipur's specialties like jewelry, gems, furnishings, and handicrafts make it a shopper's delight. It is also known for its palaces and forts, such as the Hawa Mahal Palace and Amber Fort. The city breathes culture and has something for everyone.
The conference venue is the contemporary and stylish Jaipur Marriott, in close proximity to the airport and easily accessible from the city center. The Marriott was recently constructed with state-of-the-art amenities and varied settings for INK2011 activities. INKtalks will take place in the spacious Sapphire Ballroom. Conference attendees can stay at the Marriott, or at the Royal Orchid nearby. Hotel booking instructions are available in the Plan Your Conference section.
